Head over the harbor bridge to Mount Maunganui, more locally known as simply ‘The Mount.’ Mount Main Beach is the perfect place for kids and adults alike. Watched over by life guards during the summer months, Main Beach is the perfect spot to relax before wandering the short distance to Mount Main street to experience the vibrant café culture, boutique shopping and beachfront parks or reserves.

You can’t take a trip to The Mount without taking advantage of its no 1 natural attraction – Mauao. Climb Mauao for amazing views. It takes 30 mins! Well worth the walk once you get up there – see who is faster, you or the kids! The perfect family activities in Mount Maunganui! 

Situated at the base of Mauao are the Mt Maunganui Hot Salt Water Pools, the country’s only geothermally-heated hot salt water pools. Next door, is the fantastic Mount Maunganui Beachside Holiday Park; the perfect base for a holiday. 

Marshalls Animal Farm, has 35 acres of pleasant farm animals and entertainment. Pathways lead you up close and personal to have animal encounters. Kids can even feed the animals!
