Local Geothermal Week @ Craters of the Moon

To celebrate Geothermal Week 10-16th August, we are offering FREE entry for Taupo residents to our Craters of the Moon Geothermal Walk.

Daily 10am bird feeding and 1pm guided walk with a local Ecologist (Monday – Friday only) to explore what makes Craters of the Moon unique, nationally significant and special to the Taupo District.

SOLD OUT! Our geothermal themed, free kids’ fun zone in partnership with Kids Greening Taupo will be on Saturday & Sunday 15 & 16th August from 10.00am-12.00pm. There will be colouring in competitions, bouncy castle, craft workshops, scavenger hunt, fun games, face painting, raffle and a sausage sizzle, sponsored by the Warehouse. Goodie bag for every child and awesome prizes.

Our incredible friends around the Wairakei Tourist Park have stepped up and donated amazing spot prizes, a huge thanks to Wairakei Resort, Wairakei Golf Course and Bird Sanctuary, Huka Falls Cruise, Honey Hive, Bike Taupo, Four B, Wairakei Terrace & Thermal Health Spa, Huka Jet, Wairakei Thermal Valley and Lava Glass.
