Spookers is one of New Zealand’s most unique attractions, known for live scare-actors, detailed sets and a line-up of themed experiences designed to unsettle even confident visitors. Located on Kingseat Road in Auckland, the park offers a mix of indoor and outdoor scares, seasonal themes and guided options for younger guests. Even if you’re visiting for a standard night-time run or the family-friendly version, Spookers aims to deliver a direct and immersive horror experience.
At its core, Spookers is a walk-through horror attraction where you move through enclosed rooms, corridors, outdoor paths and themed zones. The actors react to you in real time, altering their approach based on age, confidence and group behaviour. Expect loud noises, jump scares, unusual sound effects and lighting designed to catch you off-guard.
Spookers Haunted Attraction Theme Park
Spookers runs a cycle of seasonal themes throughout the year, each offering a unique horror experience. The Season of Beasts (May–July) features creature-driven scares, while the Season of Slashers (August–October) focuses on classic horror villains and fast-paced frights. The Season of Folklore (November–January) introduces folklore-inspired scenes and characters. Among its main attractions, the Haunted House stands out as a centrepiece, where guests encounter unsettling characters, cramped passageways, and immersive audio effects that heighten tension; actors throughout ensure that each visit can feel different. Disturbia offers a 3D, blacklight-heavy environment filled with clashing colours, distorted layouts, and psychedelic clowns, with loud sounds and tight spaces maintaining an unpredictable pace.
The Woods provides an outdoor experience through dark forest areas with limited visibility, requiring a torch (either brought by guests or purchased on-site), making scares particularly abrupt. Finally, CornEvil is an outdoor maze-style attraction included with certain passes and available when operating conditions allow.
Spookers includes a café and bar offering burgers, pizzas, snacks and drinks for visitors wanting a break before or after their scheduled run. For group outings, the venue offers themed functions, birthday party packages, and “Fiendish Feasts”, where guests can pre-book platters such as dumplings, sliders, kebabs, savouries and desserts. Larger events and custom bookings are also available.
Spookers Tickets
Ticket types at Spookers vary by age group and intensity level. Scream Nights (Ages 13+) offer the standard experience for teens and adults seeking a full-scale scare, running Friday to Sunday evenings with gates opening at 8.00 pm and last entry at 9.00 pm. The pass includes access to all attractions—Haunted House, Disturbia, The Woods, and CornEvil (when available)—plus a group photo. A physical torch is required for outdoor zones, and phone torches are not accepted, with photo ID mandatory for entry.
Taste of Terror (Ages 8+) is a gentler tour aimed at children and families, running on Saturday afternoons and selected school holiday days. It features a guided Haunted House walk with reduced scares and a self-guided Disturbia visit in 3D without actors, focusing on behind-the-scenes insights and manageable frights. Photo ID is required. Gift vouchers are available for the SuperScare package, granting entry to all four major attractions and including a photo, and are limited to visitors aged 13 and older.
Spookers Age Limit
Spookers use clear age categories to ensure safety and comfort. Children aged 8 and over can participate in Taste of Terror, while those 13 and older are eligible for Scream Nights and full-access experiences. Visitors under 8 are not permitted inside attractions. Actors adjust their performances according to the age of each group, but the minimum age limits are strictly enforced.
