The MDA Experiences Whanau have been active members in community  service projects since its inception in 1989. Whether it be social or environmental initiatives, we pride ourselves on being strong advocates of Kaitiakitanga. As part of the MDA Group, Mountain Bike Rotorua are dedicated to being involved in the community. Here are just a couple of examples of how we get out and about:

• Major Sponsors of the Rotorua Mountain Bike Club, providing over $30,000p/a of both cash and in-kind support to ensure regular operations can take place.

• Sponsors of the Rotorua Trails Trust, providing cash, shuttles and promotion for the trust.

• Mountain Bike Rotorua Forest Academy – Sponsors of a number of athletes and community leaders, providing a mixture of shuttles, equipment and cash to a number of athletes.

• Funders of Trees that Count, planting native trees when tours are booked.

• Share the Ride Programme owners and managers. This includes Share the Ride with Whanau, Share the Ride with Schools, Share the Ride for Xmas.

The Mountain Bike Rotorua whanau (family) is one that was born from an ethos of ensuring that every experience is always about people. Our professional and personable crew follow traditional Maori values of Kaitiakitanga (guardians of place and people), Manaakitanga (building integrity and strength in each other), Whanaungatanga (creating lasting relationships with all those whose paths we cross) and Kotahitanga (coming together and moving forward as one).
