One of Tāmaki Makaurau’s most beloved Matariki celebrations returns on Thursday 9 July, transforming Karangahape Road into a free, all-day journey of light, music, storytelling, and connection.
Organised by the Karangahape Road Business Association, and supported by Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei and Auckland Council, this event is truly a gift to the community. Highlights include live performances, whetū activations across Karangahape Road, immersive art installations and storytelling experiences, family-friendly activities, and food and hospitality from local K Road businesses.
More than just a festival, Te Karanga-a-Hape is an invitation — a call to connect with te taiao, with our communities, and with ourselves. Whether you’re coming with tamariki, grandparents, or friends, this free celebration promises something magical for everyone. Nau mai, haere mai — all are welcome!
