DESCRIPTION:Following their U-Play event\, The Upper Hutt Darts Association have decided they would like to start a FREE junior darts programme to give young people a chance to learn a new skill.  \nWhat: Free Junior Darts Programme – Focused on teaching the basics of darts and encouraging young people in Upper Hutt to try something new\nWhen: Every Thursday evening\, 5-6.30PM until the 3rd of October\nWhere: 58 Totara Park Road (Upper Hutt Darts Association Building)\nWho: Anyone aged 8-16 with an interest in playing darts and learning more about the game \nAllan Cushnahan (Cush) will be running this programme for the Darts Association. No cost or registration required. Please wear closed shoes and turn up on time. \nIf your child has their own darts\, they are encouraged to bring them along but they will be provided as well. If you’d like more information\, please contact Allan on 029 770 4895.

DESCRIPTION:U-Play is proud to partner with Beyond the Page for the October School Holidays!  \nHave you ever heard of a camelid? Can you tell the difference between an alpaca and a llama? Which one has the banana-shaped ears to go with its very wonky-looking teeth? What even is a guanaco? \nIf you’re having trouble answering these questions\, then we know just how to help! Come along to Llamas at the Llibrary and get up close with a llama (and some other camelids)! Join us for a special outdoor storytime where a llama-loving librarian will treat you to some stories that feature our long-necked friends\, then we’ll introduce you to our expert Stephen and his crew of camelids. You’ll learn a little about camelids and the differences between them\, then will have a chance to come up close and meet one of the animals you’ve just learned about. \nMake sure you bring along your best listening ears (banana-shaped ears are optional) as you’ll be taught the best way to approach your new animal friends. This is an outdoor event\, so wrap up warm! \nThis Beyond the Page event is suitable for tamariki of all ages with their caregivers. Spaces are limited – arrive early to secure your space.
