Ruakuri Cave Tour – 1.5 – 2 hours
Journey down the push chair friendly spectacular spiral entrance, built to safeguard a Wāhi Tapu (sacred area). Explore and see glowworms and their sticky threads up close, listen to the distant thunder of the subterranean waterfalls and learn about why Ruakuri was given its name over 200 years ago.

Aranui Cave Tour – 1 hour
Take the family on an expedition through enchanted forest to find the hidden entrance to Aranui Cave. Learn from our guide about native flora and fauna upon the way. Aranui Cave is home to a colony of Cave Wetas – they can’t see you as they’re nearly blind but kids – see if you can spot them! View stunning cave formations with white, pink and brown stalactites and stalagmites.

Ruakuri Bush Walk
Car park entry off Tumutumu Road
A scenic and easy 1km long loop walk. Discover a forested gorge, sculpted cliffs and the amazing Ruakuri Natural Tunnel.

Marokopa Falls
Situated 29 kms from Waitomo Caves
Take a short walk (20 minutes return) through tawa and nikau forest down to the viewing platform, see the beautiful 35m high Marokopa falls in action.

Allow 30 minutes – 1 hour for your visit
